Guidelines for Posting in WhatsApp Chat Groups
Keep it respectful
No sexist, racist, or offensive comments. Treat everyone in the group with respect.
Stay on topic
Posts should relate to the purpose of the group (e.g. over-50s support, football, wellbeing). Avoid unrelated chat that clutters the group.
No inappropriate content
No explicit jokes, sexual content, or "laddish" banter. If you wouldn't say it in a room full of people, don't post it.
Think before you post
Ask yourself: is this helpful? Is it supportive? Is it positive? If not, don't send it.
Keep disagreements civil
Healthy debate is fine, but personal attacks or hostile tone are not.
No spamming or excessive messaging
Avoid flooding the group with back-to-back messages, memes, or forwards.
Don't share private information
Never share anyone's personal details, screenshots, or private messages without permission.
Use the group for support, not promotion
No advertising services, businesses, or unrelated events unless previously agreed.
Respect people's time
Avoid messaging late at night or very early unless urgent.
If in doubt, ask
If you're unsure whether something is appropriate, check with an admin before posting.
